Two tank engines, numbered RR 1
“Rhodesia” and RR 2 “Winston
Churchill” were purchased from
Hudswell Clarke in 1929 to replace
‘Jack Tar’ at Beira.
Their wheelbase was too long for
Beira Docks, and they were stored
for twelve years before being used
as works shunters at Mafeking and
Umtali.
