FEVE, the operators of the well established and popular El Transcantabrico
and Le Robla touring trains in northern Spain have added the
Al Andalus, an
historic and luxurious train in Andalucia, to their portfolio.

Launching in 2012, the itinerary, dates and prices are on our website.

Also on our website are dates and prices for the
El Transcantabrico and Le
Robla
trains for 2012 and 2013.

It had been hope that our 2012 steam tour to Kenya would be finalised
before now, but that was not to be. Another tour operator proposed
running steam charters close to our dates  with a more ambitious
programme. We decided to wait for the dust to settle before moving
forward with our tour - not as comprehensive as theirs, but acceptable to
the railway and achievable.

The tour has been approved and we are sorting out the finer details - and
a price.

The English Electric diesel chase was a success in 2011, next year it will
happen before the steam tour. The Masai Mara game reserve visit will
take place after the steam event. This makes it possible to see the current
railway, the steam locomotives and spend time in a wildlife reserve
during a great 15 day Kenya holiday.

Our July 2011 England and Wales Trains and Treasures tour
was a great success. Listening to participants on that and
other tours, we have brought together all of our British and Irish
Trains and Treasures tours, making it possible to start your
holiday in Ireland, visit Wales and Scotland, and end in
London. That's a great tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland,
or you can join or leave the tour when we change countries for
a shorter holiday. The tour through each country is priced
separately, and,
there is a great 10% discount if you book the
full programme.

The Flickr collection is growing steadily, with photographs from all of our
recent tours being included. If you are considering a tour, take a look at
recent ones can give you an idea of what to expect.

Warning - Flickr can be addictive, as can steam trains!

The results can be found here.
The favourable reaction to our 2011 African Steam season has encouraged a similar package in
2012. Kenya has been moved to February because the weather is better then, but the southern
African nations have been kept together, making it possible to combine South Africa, Botswana,
Zimbabwe and Zambia in one trip. The order of countries has been changed, reducing the need
for regional flights.

The programme is now available and prices should be released soon. If you would like to join the
tour, subject to an acceptable price., please let us know. Early bookings help to keep prices down,
and make it possible to arrange your flights earlier. Everyone wins - including you!

Good day

August is the month when our plans for next year come together. As you have travelled with Geoff's Trains previously, or have
shown interest in what we do, I would like to keep you up to date.

Geoff's Trains runs tours for both railway enthusiasts and tourists. The
African steam season is a unique collection of tours
operated for steam enthusiasts who have an interest in travelling behind and photographing steam locomotives  in a number
of different African countries, whilst the
Best of Ireland and Britain series of tours are a wonderful way to explore Ireland,
Wales, Scotland and England. Discerning holidays that offer a programme of trains, history, scenery and entertainment.

If you would like to see a tour included that does not feature here, or if you have any matters you would like to raise,
I would love to hear from you.

Looking forward to welcoming you on one of the tours that I will personally host next year.
