New in 2010, the La Robla train is a more economical train tour option to it's sister, the El Transcantabrico.
Two different routes are offered, each lasting three nights and four days.
The train offers en suite accommodation in two berth compartments and lounges where a self service breakfast is served.

La Robla Itinerary
Bilbao - Leon - Bilbao
Day 1: Thursday. (Bilbao - Sotoscueva - Vado Cervera)
The train leaves the FEVE station in Bilbao at 16h00. Travel to Espinhosa de
los Manteros for a coach tour to the Karstic complex at Ojo Guarena, one of
the largest in the world. Later, depart by train to Cevera de Pisuerga where we
will stay for the night at the FEVE Station. Dinner will be at the Parador de
Fuentes Cariobas Hotel.
Day 2: Friday (Vado Cervera - Cistierna - Bonar - Leon)
The train will travel to Cistierna as you enjoy breakfast on board. Visit the
Sabero Mining and Steelworks Museum before continuing to Bonar to visit the
Wild Fauna Museum and the impressive Porma Reservoir. Lunch will be at
Valdehuesa before returning to the train. Travel this afternoon to Leon, a
roman city where culture and art abound. Visit the Cathedral, the historical
centre and San Marcos. Dinner will be at the famous Prieto Picudo wine
cellars and the night will be spent at Leon Station.
Day 3: Saturday (Leon - Matallan - Mataporquera - Espinosa)
Breakfast will again be on the train as it winds along the Torio River. Depart
by coach from Matallana for a visit to the Hoces de Vegacervera and the
Valporquero caves. Join the train again and travel as far as Vado Cervera for
lunch and a villa tour. This afternoon, the train will travel to Espinosa de Los
Monteros where we will enjoy dinner and spend the night.
Day 4: Sunday (Espinosa - Balmaseda - Bilbao)
After breakfast, visit the Villa of Espinosa de Los Monteros and Medina de
Pomar. Later the train will continue to Balmaseda, with a visit to the
Encartada beret factory. After lunch, visit the Torre de Loizaga castle in
Galdames that houses the largest collection of Rolls Royce vehicles in the
world. Continue to Bilbao, arriving at about 20h00.
Holy St James Itinerary
Gijon - Ferrol - Gijon
Day 1: Thursday (Gijon - Ribadeo)
The train leaves the FEVE station at Gijon at 16h00 (4 PM). Travel to
Ribadeo, the first Galician settlement on the banks of the Eo river, where you
will enjoy dinner at the Parador Hotel.
Day 2: Friday (Ribadeo - Vivairo - Ortigueira)
Following an on-board breakfast, the train will arrive at Viveiro, a beautiful
walled city where our tour will include the views from Mount San Pelayo.
Rejoin the train to travel to Origueira, from where a coach tour will include
Carino (lunch) and Cabo Ortegal, impressive cliffs and views from the most
northerly point in Spain. Continue to Cediera before returning to the train at
Ortigueira for dinner and the night.
Day 3: Saturday (Ortighuira - Santiago de Compostela - A Coruna
Ferrol)
After breakfast we will travel by coach to Santiago de Compostela to visit the
historic centre and Cathedral. Continue to A Coruna for lunch and to visit the
Tower of Hercules, the sea front or Ma Pita Square. This afternoon, join a
short tour of Ferrol before dinner.
Day 4: Sunday (Ferrol - Mondonedo - Gijon)
Travel to Foz this morning before continuing to Mondonedo and it's
prominent Cathedral. Visit the Marina Lucense beaches before lunch in
Rinio. This afternoon, see the lighthouse and the ancient Caradero de
Ribadeo before rejoining the train in Navia for our final journey back to Gijon,
arriving at about 21h00.

There are 7 en-suite cabins in each of the four accommodation coaches on the train. Each has one upper and one lower berth, a wardrobe, suitcase storage and telephone. The bathroom has a shower, wc and wash basin.
All cabins are air conditioned.
